Tarpon Bay (Bonita Springs, FL)

If you want a nice seafood restaurant with an amazing view, then go to Tarpon Bay in Bonita Springs, Florida. Located at the Hyatt, Tarpon Bay has an amazing view of a fountain in water. You can sit indoors or outdoors. Don’t worry, the outdoor seating has a screen over it, so you don’t have to worry about the mosquito problem. Indoors, they have a big wine cellar with a bar.

For an appetizer, I would recommend the three ceviches. You can choose from a variety of the Snapper, Scallop, Peruvian, Salmon, Shrimp, Tuna, Grouper and Conch. Remember to pick wisely though, some might have a different taste then others. Also, they have amazing oysters. I would recommend the Blue Point.
For the main course, the Salmon Pineapple Diablo is one of my favorites. It’s served with lemon grass scented jasmine rice, Salmon Roe and cucumber salad, served on a Pineapple Diablo sauce.
Also, the Tarpon Seafood Pasta is good. It has gulf shrimp, diver scallops, lobster broth, roasted vegetables and Ballerine Pasta.
Also, for a side dish, the lobster mac n cheese is so good! It has all the tastes of regular mac n cheese, with a twist of lobster. Yum!

I personally recommend for the appetizers their house famous chowder. It has potatoes, clams, lobster and crab. It was amazing. For the main course I recommend the three little piggy’s which are three pulled pork sliders which are served with French fries and coleslaw. I also enjoyed the burger. It is a traditional sirloin burger, about 8oz with cheese of your choice. Swiss, American or cheddar. They have tomatoes, iceberg lettuce and pickles. You can add blue cheese sauce and bacon.
They also have a great Salmon. It’s honey and almond roasted served with Jasmine rice and vegetables.

The attire is fairly casual. If you are seated inside, it is slightly more sheik. You can wear jeans, and nice short or a dress. Outside, keep in mind it is on the beach, so there will be sand, so don’t wear your nicest clothes or shoes. Jeans or shorts with a t shirt and open toed shoes would be best for the outside.

Their Sunday Brunch is exquisite. I’ll walk you through it. First when you walk in the door, you can see three  platters of assorted  cheeses, assorted fruits, and cold cuts. Next you see the pancake and build your own omelet bar. The pancakes are made of corn, so gluten free people, that’s your pancake place. The toppings that are avaloable for the pancakes are, butter, maple syrup, banana puree, and orange marmalade. Next you can see a buffet of southwestern style eggs Benedict and chicken and pork enchiladas. Next they have salmon, mashed potatoes, pork, and steak tips. If you walk a little further, you have salads and pastries along with bread. Now the last part, and the MUST TRY is………………………..BUILD YOUR OWN TACO BAR!!!!!!!! You take a soft shell taco and fill it with whatever you want. They have cheese, guacamole, salsa, sour cream, cilantro, tomatoes, beef and chicken. That was my personal favorite part of the meal.

Their food was amazing and the fact that you could have thai and japanese, at the same time, was a major bonus!  It is a little whole in the wall, but they act as if they are a five star restaurant.Reccomendations
I personally recommend the black dragon roll. It is a shrimp tempura maki roll, with eel and avocado placed on top. I also recommend the sashimi boat, which is twelve pieces of sashimi, one better than the other. There was another dish, that was delicious, it was the sliced hamachi with jalapeños. The spicy tuna hand roll was the best hand roll i had ever had. If you are in the mood for something away from sushi, try the lunch specials. You can have chicken, pork, beef, tofu (fried or sautéed) and shrimp. You can choose from a variety of different sauces and curry’s to sooth your palette. Sea Salt (Naples FL)

If you’re looking for cool meats and a hip atmosphere, come on down to Naples, Florida, where there is a funky restaurant called Sea Salt. SeaSalt is inspired by its location which is close to the water and has perfected some of the most delicious seafood that I have ever tasted. Chef Fabrizio Aielli brings home cooking recipes, learned from his Venetian mother, while exploring different methods and putting all of his heart into it. As far as possible, ingredients come from local producers and markets and the disherfolk. Chef Fabrizio Aielli is using organic and local produce, wild caught seafood, poultry and meat raised naturally without hormones, antibiotics or animal by-products whenever possible, emphasizing fresh and seasonal ingredients.

Personally, I prefer fish over meat. One of my favorite dishes there is the blackened grouper. Its prepared with 5 spices and served with asparagus, finger link potatoes and roasted tomatoes. Its so juicy and since it’s blackened, it gets more flavor.
Also, they prepare a red snapper that is to die for. They make the whole fish and bring it out to you, nice and hot, straight from the grill.
For an appetizer, I would recommend the blue point oysters. From Connecticut, since they are on the East Coast, I find them less briny then the ones on the West Coast. Also, you should try the Tuna TarTar, over a bed of avocado topped with arugula and hot and sweet chili sauce.
Sea Salt also has the best cotton candy you will ever taste! They start mixing it in a mixer and have it go round and round and round until its the size of your head! Once you put it in your mouth, you have only a few seconds to try it because it literally melts in your mouth! Sea Salt is also known for their salt. Tons of different kinds of salt, with flavors from light and sweet to hot and spicy. My favorite salt there is the Ghost Pepper salt Which I had with bread and olive oil.

For dress attire, I would say, nice but not too fancy, remember Sea Salt has a funky theme. Also remember that your in Florida so its not cold, but jeans would be nice in the night, if you get a little chilly. The restaurant is a kid friendly place, but parents and couples, feel free to leave your kids at home if you just want some time for yourselves.
